How to Make: Apple Mabon Bread

Time has arrived for comforting foods... and if they have apple and a spicy aroma, even better! Today I'm posting a simple recipe for a yummy, unique Fall themed bread-like cake. It's very easy and quick to do... and my tummy keeps asking for more!

Apple Mabon Bread
Pão de Maçã de Mabon

Ingredients: Ingredientes:
3 cups all-purpose baking flour or whole wheat flour 3 chávenas de farinha
1 1/2 tsp. sodium bicarbonate 1 1/2 c. chá bicarbonato de sódio
3/4 cup chopped walnuts 3/4 chávena avelãs cortadas finamente
2 1/2 cups grated apple (about 4 apples) 2 1/2 chávs. maçã ralada (aprox. 4 maçãs)
3/4 cup honey 3/4 chávena mel
1 cup warm water 1 chávena água quente
2 tbsp. olive oil 2 c. sopa azeite
1 tsp. salt 1 c. chá sal
1 tsp. cinnamon 1 c. chá canela em pó

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Add the grated apple, the honey, the olive oil, the salt, the cinnamon and the warm water in a bowl and mix the ingredients well. Set aside.
In a second bowl, mix the flour, the sodium bicarbonate and the chopped walnuts. Add this mixture to the first bowl and blend all the ingredients manually.
Grease your loaf pan and pour the mixture until it's 3/4 full and put it in the oven for about 45 minutes.

Enjoy your yummy bread and happy Fall equinox (ok, I know I'm a little late... but better late than never)! If you ever try this recipe, I would love to hear about it from you!
